The HUMMEL company presents yet another innovation in enclosure technology: with immediate effect, at www.hummel.com, all customers and all those interested in HUMMEL products have access to an enclosure configurator developed by our own in-house experts.

From now on, using a tool-based application, all those interested in enclosures can have their own individual solution prepared in six simple steps and submit it to the advisory and sales team. Thus the configurator can be considered as a new purchasing route or as support for the traditional method of project enquiries. By doing so, HUMMEL intends to provide support to its customers with its many years experience in the area of electromechanical devices - among other things, in the fields of cable glands, circular connectors and industrial enclosures, as well as the manufacture of electronic devices for different fields of application and sectors of industry.

The main components of the new housing configurator, or in other words the stages of the user application consist of:

1. Choosing the enclosure from an assortment of polycarbonate and aluminium housings
2. Choosing and positioning brass and plastic cable glands belonging to the HSK Series, sizes M12 up to M40
3. Choosing and positioning different HUMMEL accessories
4. Additional machining of the enclosure with thread sizes M2.5 up to M40 and/or drill holes specified by the customer
5. Defining cut sections on the enclosure specified by the customer
6. Request for quotation or an order for the enclosure chosen, and storing the configuration, parts list and/or drawings

With its compact six-stage design and easy use by means of drag-and-drop functions, the application is intuitive and simple to work with. Furthermore, users of the configurator have comprehensive instructions in the form of a video on the website.
