A contact at the input 1 forces the controller into standby mode, a contact at the input 2 forces the controller into boost mode. the contacts of the output 1 are closed in case of over temperature, the contacts of the output 2 are closed in case of under temperature.

What is the reason for unstable temperatures?

During the softstart ramp, the characteristic of the control loop is being detected. therefore it is important not to interrupt or shorten this phase. depending on the process, a lot of friction can be appear, which cannot always be cancelled by the controller. another reason for bad temperature control is insufficient thermal coupling or defects of the thermocouple.
