Hybrid solutions save time, space and money

Hybrid connectors in automation technology are transmitting power, signals and Industrial Ethernet. The user can choose between the connector series M16, M23 and M40.

Industrial Ethernet is one of the key technologies on the way to industry 4.0. The aspects of safety and speed of data transmission are of outstanding importance here. This raises the question of the right connection solution for users.

So-called single-cable solutions with hybrid connectors are increasingly establishing themselves on the market (OCT - One Cable Technology). The reasons for this are obvious. These all-rounders reduce the complexity of cabling and save space - a very important aspect in view of the increasing miniaturization in automation technology. Hybrid solutions also save costs: two cables become one, two connectors become one. This also shortens the assembly time for cable assembly and connector assembly. The weight of the entire cabling is also reduced, which leads to positive effects especially where energy chains are used.

HUMMEL has various hybrid solutions in its product range and is geared entirely to the requirements of the respective customer application. The M23 Hybrid is the compact all-in-one solution with high power processing and CAT.5e data transmission at up to 500 Mbps.

The new M40 Hybrid is capable of processing data up to 100 Mbit/s. In addition, the signal contacts can be operated with up to 300V/7A - a real special feature.

The M16 (12+3) connector offers a proven solution. With power processing of up to 12A and a data transmission rate of up to 100 Mbit/s, the user has a compact connection solution with attractive performance data at his disposal.

Characteristic of all hybrid connectors from HUMMEL AG: absolute industrial suitability even for harsh environments, comprehensive certifications and modularity. Housings, inserts and contacts can be combined within the respective connector series.
