The EU RoHS directives on the use of lead in alloys are being gradually tightened. For copper and brass alloys (exception 6(c)), the current exemption will remain in force until 30 June 2027. For steel and aluminium alloys (6(a)/6(b)), there are some different deadlines, depending on the respective equipment category.
HUMMEL AG is gradually converting its affected product portfolio to lead-free alternatives within the statutory deadlines. This staggered conversion means that individual product areas will be converted to lead-free variants before the statutory transition periods expire, ensuring the early availability of the relevant products and components.
Until the transition is complete, we will continue to supply in accordance with the applicable RoHS requirements, where permitted. This will ensure a continuous supply and avoid technical risks in sensitive applications.
If you would like to purchase individual products in a lead-free version ahead of schedule, please contact us. We will examine each case individually (material, process, standards) and work with you to agree on a suitable conversion and approval plan.
Your HUMMEL contact person will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
